MIAMI, June 24 (UPI) – The 2022 Stanley Cup Final, the College World Series Final and three NASCAR races highlight the sporting events that air this weekend. Dozens of games on women’s international football and MLS and MLB will also be broadcast.
There are also several boxing title competitions from Friday to Sunday.
But the NHL’s frozen-floor final is the highlight of the weekend. The Colorado Avalanche leads the Tampa Bay Lightning 3: 1 in the top seven in the Stanley Cup final.
The series continues on Friday in Denver, where the home team only needs one win to win the title and finish Lightning’s hopes for three peat.
Stanley Cup Final
Avalanche will host two-time defending champion Lightning in the 5th game at 8pm on Friday at EDT Ball Arena. Lightning’s victory would force Tampa Fla on Game 6 on Sunday.
Game 7 would be in Denver on Tuesday if needed. ABC will broadcast all Stanley Cup Finals. Hockey fans can also stream games via ESPN +.
Avalanche, the leading racket of the Western Conference, won the first two games of the series in Denver. Lightning won Game 3 but lost Game 4 overtime.
Avalanche winger Mikko Rantanen’s eight points are the most among the players. Rantanen scored a total of eight assists in four games. Avalanche winger Valeri Nichushkin and Gabriel Landeskog lead the series with two goals.
Midfielder Anthony Cirelli and left-back Ondrej Palat lead Lighting with two goals. Avalanche goalkeeper Darcy Kuemper defeated 90% of Lightning in four games. He hit a total of 90 repellents. Lightning star Andrei Vasilevski made a total of 128 stops and blocked 88.9% of Avalanche’s shots.
College World Series
The state champion of college baseball may emerge in the 2022 College World Series finals this weekend in Omaha. Oklahoma rose to the top three in the A&M title on Wednesday at the tournament standings.
The Sooners will face Ole Miss or Arkansas in the final game of Saturday at 7pm EDT Charles Schwab Field. The second game is on Sunday at 3 p.m. Both games will be broadcast on ESPN.
The 3rd game will be broadcast online at 7pm on Monday.
NASCAR
Three NASCAR races will be shown this weekend from Nashville Superspeedway in Lebanon, Tennis. The Camping World Truck Series Rackley Roofing 200 starts at FS1 on Friday at 8pm EDT.
The Xfinity Series Tennessee Lottery 250 will air online on Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
The main event of the weekend Cup Series Ally 400 starts on Sunday at 17.00 on NBC. Kyle Larson, Kyle Busch, Ross Chastain, Chase Elliott, Denny Hamlin and Joey Logano are among the favorites to win the 300-lap race.
Other expected candidates include Ryan Blaney, Martin Truex Jr., William Byron, Tyler Reddick, Christopher Bell and Alex Bowman.
Daniel Suarez won the Sonoma Raceway last weekend and won two of the last five races. Logano won two of the last seven events. Elliott, Chastain, Busch, Blaney and Logano are the top 5 riders in the cup series. Busch has 11 of the top 10 finishes in the series up to 16 starts.
Chastain leads the cup with seven of the top five places. He’s also drawn with Logano, Hamlin and Byron, and this season has the best two wins in the series.
