Steelers announces ’22 game themes

The excitement of Steelers’ 2022 season is growing every day: the schedule is full of games with some of the NFL’s best opponents, as well as exciting topics and celebrations – including the 50th anniversary of Immaculate Reception.

The Steelers ‘pre-season opening game against the Seattle Seahawks on Saturday, August 13th will be the team’s home game where Steelers’ legends kick off the season.

The youth football celebration will take place when the Steelers host the Detroit Lions on Sunday, August 28th. The team’s “Play Football” honors youth and high school football teams from across the Pittsburgh area and includes half-time activities that highlight local athletes.

After the team’s home game opener against the New England Patriots on Sunday, September 18, the Steelers will celebrate its rich tradition with the team’s annual alumni weekend, when the team will host New York Jets on October 2.

The Steelers celebrate their rich tradition by holding the team’s annual alumni weekend, when the team hosts New York Jets on October 2nd.

The NFL is collaborating with the American Cancer Society for the 14th consecutive season on “Crucial Catch: Intercept Cancer.” The initiative supports the fight against cancer and will be highlighted by NFL teams in October. The Steelers will host their Crucial Catch game on Sunday, October 16, when they host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Heinz Field. There is no shortage of support throughout Heinz Field, and stencils and goal post windings are among the items supporting Crucial Catch. Players and coaches also show their support, the clothes on the side are visible. It’s also a weekend where the Steelers host the annual Rock Steelers Style event.

The Steelers welcome the 2022 Hall of Honor Class weekend as the team meets with the New Orleans Saints. The Steelers will introduce a new class that will include an on-site presentation during the game on Sunday, November 13th.

The Steelers have been respecting the people who have served our country for decades, and this tradition will continue as the team hosts the game Salute to Service as the team plays Sunday Night Football at Heinz Field with Cincinnati Bengals. Since the inception of the NFL’s Salute to Service initiative, the Steelers have honored countless veterans at the annual game and recognized those who continue to serve in all branches of the armed forces.

It is not uncommon to see players on the field during the pre-game warm-up, whose clamps represent their city, show their personality or just something fun to encourage them. But when the Steelers confront the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday, Dec. 11, their staples will take on a whole new look, showing off something they’re passionate about. For the seventh year, the NFL will support players who represent a charity or goal in the league’s My Cause, My Cleats initiative. Once players have worn the staples, they have the opportunity to sell them up for auction to raise money for the NFL auction, with 100% of the funds raised going to charity. Fans can bid on player confirmations at NFL.com/Auction.

Christmas Eve is a huge celebration at Heinz Field for several reasons as the team hosts the Las Vegas Raider. The team celebrates the 50th anniversary of Immaculate Reception. On December 23, 1972, in the playoffs at Three Rivers Stadium in the AFC Division against Oakland Riders, Franco Harris miraculously shoveled the pass and ran over to a 60-yard pass, giving the Steelers 13: 7. to win. This was the team’s first play-off win.

The team will also be taking part in the NFL’s social justice campaign “Inspire Change” during the Raiders game this weekend. The Steelers, like all NFL teams, have put social justice at the forefront of their community’s efforts.

The annual “Thank You to the Fans” game will take place when the Steelers host the Browns on a date to be determined by the NFL. This gives the organization the opportunity to thank Steelers Nation for its seasonal and year-round support. Gifts and a lot of excitement will be offered to the fans present and to the entire Steelers Nation.
