According to the Omaha Fire Department, six people have been taken to the ambulance from the College World Series, mainly due to the heat. Paramedics at the scene receive 50-60 people a day. According to doctors, the best way to overcome the heat is to drink plenty of cold water, take frequent breaks in the shade or in conditioning, and wear light clothing with sunscreen on exposed skin. Despite the heat, baseball fans fill the seats. They find creative ways to keep cool without losing their excitement. One lemonade seller told KETV NewsWatch 7 that the heat helps the business.
